The HP 10GbE MII Management Enablement Kit consists of a small PCB and a flexible cable with connectors for use on select
10GbE server adapters to provide sideband management support over a 10GbE connection. This is sometimes called "in band" iLO
sideband support. By allowing management packets to be transmitted and received on the Ethernet ports of the NIC, the MEK
eliminates the need for separate, dedicated cables for management. The MII (Media Independent Interface) MEK is used on servers
that have a 24 pin MII connector.
